A Safe Haven for Our Children in a World of Confusion and Lies
Rooted in the doctrine of Original Sin and God creating faith through Holy Baptism, the Christian church has prioritized the formation of the life of faith of the littlest Christians ever since the time of the Apostles (Col. 3:20-21; Eph. 6:4; 1 John 2:12-13; and more!). Our forefathers in the Faith formed these little Christians by teaching them what is true and good and beautiful, beginning with the Bible and all other useful arts & sciences.
Since the Bible has been rejected in public schools for decades, we cannot be surprised that the other arts & sciences have been poisoned and utilized to attack Christian faith and values with the goal of corrupting Childhood itself. What we see in the world around us, and especially in the field of education, is not truth, goodness, and beauty, but rather ugly, evil lies.
Such a spiritual assault comes from the devil himself. He wages war against children because they are the paradigm for living a life of faith in Christ (Mark 10:13-16). Creating gender confusion, stoking malicious and prideful thoughts and actions based on skin color, introducing sexually explicit content to tender youth, denying the God-given, blessed distinctions between boys and girls, sowing distrust and dishonor towards Family & Church, all of this done by Satan disguising himself as an angel of light (2 Cor. 11:14) with nice-sounding words like “diversity, equity, and inclusivity.”
The mission of St. John’s Lutheran School is to train and equip our students to turn away from the ugly, evil lies that this world glorifies, and instead, pursue what is good and beautiful according to God’s Word of Truth. St. John’s, and traditional Christian education as a whole, is needed now more than ever for the sake of our community and especially our children. Where else will their life of faith be formed to see and to seek what is True and Good and Beautiful in God’s eyes?
Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it. – Proverbs 22:6
